“After more than 400 days of hysteria, panic and severe restrictions, we are able to understand and analyse the global psychological pandemic unfolding before us.
The public health measures and messaging strategies adopted by authorities and media entities have, inadvertently or not, created a different type of pandemic: an invisible pandemic of fear. Fear of our own bodies, fear of other human beings, fear of touch and intimacy, fear of the outside world – all amounting to fear of living life.
Millions of people worldwide are currently suffering in silence, afraid to leave their past isolation. In order to unlock everyone from this fear we need to regain the courage to live normally again.
We need to help those who are still conditioned by fear to regain the confidence to interact with others as they did before. We need to help them as they take the first steps out of what is effectively a ‘mental lockdown’ and help them integrate back into society. We need to assist and encourage constructive social interactions that can help us all become able to live and love again.
We invite you to join this mental health awareness campaign of LOVE not Fear.”
